Aurangabad, March 30:

A large crowd was gathering at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) at Jadhavwadi ignoring the seriousness of coronavirus. With this in mind, a ban has been imposed on retailers, farmers and citizens at APMC premises. Likewise, municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey has allotted 41 places for retailers in 9 zones to sell vegetables in the city, informed municipal additional commissioner B B Nemane on Monday.

The decision was taken in a joint meeting of the municipal corporation, district administration and APMC administration. The administration has decided to implement a lockdown from March 31 as the number of corona patients is increasing in the city. As a precautionary measure, the municipal administration has decided to allow only wholesalers in the Jadhavwadi market to avoid the influx of consumers. Also consumers, farmers, retailers will not be allowed at APMC. It was also decided to take legal action if anyone was found selling vegetables illegally in violation of this decision. Also, handcart vendors have been allowed to sell vegetables in various areas following the rules. APMC chairman Radhakisan Pathade, district deputy registrar Anil Kumar Dabshede, Jilha Vyapari Mahasangh president Jagannath Kale, all ward officers were present.
