Aurangabad, Feb 24:

Many people recovered from Corona are ignoring using mask and following safety guidelines due to the misconception that they had been infected once and will not be infected again. But, they can be infected again as the antibodies developed after Corona infections are ineffective after six months.

Although, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) statistics claimed that only two persons have been infected again after Corona infection once, but there is a possibility that this number can be more, the experts opined. District civil surgeon, Dr Sundar Kulkarni, has also mentioned that there are no data about the patients who had been infected on second occasion. It is said that the persons infected by Corona develop antibodies that avert the Corona infection. But, this effect of antibodies remains only for few months, said the president of the Aurangabad Physicians Association, Dr Sanjay Patne. But, it is seen that the patients who recovered from Corona earlier are ignoring the use of masks and following the safety guidelines.

AMC medical officer, Dr Neeta Padalkar, said that the antibodies develop after the Corona infection remains for around 6 months. Hence, people should use masks and follow the safety measures, she said.
