Aurangabad, Dec 20:

Rising prices of soybean oil, cottonseed oil, palm oil and vegetable oil have hit new highs due to lower inflow. This has accelerated inflation. However, the fall in gram and tur dal has brought some relief.

Imports of sunflower oil and palm oil have declined. As a result, domestic edible oil prices have skyrocketed. Last week, the price of soybean oil rose to Rs 115 per litre. This is followed by cottonseed oil at Rs 110 and palm oil at Rs 110 per litre. To date, the price of the edible oil has never reached this high. Due to rising prices of palm oil, vegetable oil is also being sold at Rs 110 per kg. As new groundnuts are being exported, the price of groundnut oil has gone up by Rs 10 and is being sold at Rs 150 to Rs 155 per litre.
