Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Revenue employees have threatened to halt work if cases are filed against officials accused by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya of issuing bogus birth and death certificates to Bangladeshi nationals.

The employees' union submitted a memorandum to SP and Resident Deputy Collector Vinod Khiroalkar, urging that no FIRs be registered. The union claimed the process of issuing such certificates is quasi-judicial and protected under Section 3 and Section 28 of the concerned act, which shields officials from legal action. They said repeated complaints are affecting staff morale. Present during the submission were union leaders Paresh Khosre, Rahul Bansode, Vaibhav Bhale, Akash Tupare, Mujahid Patel, Vijay Pawar, Santosh Pardeshi, and K.S. Qadri.
