A girl from other state was searching her husband at Waluj MIDC area on Tuesday. An auto-rickshaw driver Ranjangaon asked about her plight and handed her over safely to the Waluj MIDC police. The police felicitated the driver for his good deed on Wednesday at Waluj MIDC police station.

A man after love marriage with a minor girl from Unnav in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and brought her to Waluj MIDC. They lived in a rented house. However, he was missing from the house for a week. The girl in panic started searching him at Waluj MIDC area. As she could not find her husband, she decided to go to her native village. She came to Waluj bus stop where she met the auto-rickshaw driver Ashok Pankhede (Ranjangaon Shenpunji) and told him that she has no moneyand requested him to leave her at the Railway Station. He brought her in his rickshaw to Pandharpur where informed about the incident to PI of traffic branch, Sheshrao Udar and PSI Taher Patel. The girl told the police about her plight. PI of Waluj MIDC, Madhukar Sawant informed about her parents about the girl and handed her over to the Damini team. She was kept at the remand home and was later handed over to her relatives.

Meanwhile, Waluj MIDC police felicitated Pankhede for helping a hapless girl. PI, Madhukar Sawant, Udar and Patel felicitated Pandkhede, who got emotional after the felicitation.
