Aurangabad, Dec 18:

The Samta Parishad has organised morchas all over the state. Chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar assured that the reservations for OBCs will not be hamperred and the Parishad ceased the morchas by organising the Abhar (Thanks giving) Morcha in the city. The morcha led by former MP Sameer Bhujbal was culminated at Gulmandi.

People gathered near the Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule statue from all over the district since morning. Rajabhau Shirsath and Nagsen Savdekar presented Krantigeets. Statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Gopinath Mundhe were placed at the venue.

Activists posed as Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Savitribai Phule, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and other leaders attracted attention of the people. People took photos with them.

Sameer Bhujbal arrived at Aurangpura at around 1.45 pm and garlanded the statues of Phule couple. He interacted with the media. He said that we are supporting the Maratha reservations but it should not hamper the OBC reservations. Chief minister and deputy chief minister have assured that the OBC reservations will not be hamperred at any cost. Hence, the Samta Parishad will not organised any morcha anymore, he said.

Later, Bhujbal, Bapusaheb Bhubal, NCP OBC Cell state president Ishwar Balbude, Marathwada president Subhash Raut, Balasaheb Kardak made speeches during the public meeting. Manoj Ghodke made an introductory speech while Santosh Virkar proposed a vote of thanks.

Banjara Kala Pathak, Mantha, members demonstrated traditional dance in front of the morcha, followed by Nathpanthi Gosavi Samaj Samuh in traditional attire led by Seema Nayak. Activists wore caps with the slogan ‘Mi OBC’ written on it. The morcha culminated at Gulmandi.

Paithan city council president Suraj Lolge, Nishant Pawar, Sandeep Ghodke, Ashok Shevgan, Mirza Qayyum Nadvi, Balasaheb Pawar, Rambhau Perkar, Shashikala Khobre, Anita Devatkar and others were present.
