Aurangabad, Jan 29:

The City Chowk police have arrested a scrap vendor in a firing incident that occurred on Thursday midnight over parking vehicles in a narrow lane and obstructing the way of the pedestrians. However, the main accused in the case is still absconding. The arrested scrap vendor has been identified as Shaikh Mehmood Shaikh Ahmed Jameel alias Rajabhai (Buddhi Lane). Abdul Jabbar Abdul Sattar (24, Buddhi Lane) was injured in the firing and presently is being treated at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). A case was registered early morning on Friday.

Rajabhai runs a scrap business at Nayee Basti near Buddhi Lane. Vehicles are regularly parked in front of his shop in a narrow land due to which the residents face severe inconvenience while passing the lane.

On Thursday night, Abdul Razzaq, brother of the injured youth had a quarrel with Rajabhai over the parked vehicles. At the same time, Rajabhai’s driver Akram opened fire on Razzaq, but he was saved narrowly. Rajabhai told Akram to leave the spot. Abdul Jabbar came there and asked Rajabhai about the parked vehicles and a quarrel erupted among both of them. Akram again came there and fire two rounds on Jabbar. One bullet hit his thigh and was seriously injured. Akram fled away from the scene. Injured Jabbar was rushed to the GMCH, and now his condition is stable, informed PI, Sambhaji Pawar. Accused, Rajabhai has been arrested while Akram is still at large. PSI, Ananta Tangade is further investigating the case.
