Shramdan in Himayat Baugh
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The officials and employees of Fruit Research Station (FRS) at Himayat Baugh today cleaned up the 17th-century royal garden campus including oblong-shaped troughs, under a shramdam camp.
Participated by the principal scientist Dr Sanjay Patil, Dr Ravindra Nainwad, Dr Girish Sonawane, Dr Sadashiv Adkine, Dr Sarika Munde, Dr Vijay Sawant and others, the team during four hours lifted all the empty plastic bottles, glass bottles, empty packed food packets and other waste from the campus and also desilted the troughs flanked by ‘baradaris’ and octagonal-shaped Summer Palace in the centre.
Citizens Appealed
The drive to maintain Himayat Baugh will be implemented regularly in future. The next drive is scheduled to be held on March 9 at 8 am. Hence I appeal to the citizens should come forward and volunteer to free the campus from different kinds of waste, said the principal scientist.
