Song and music lovers of the city were disappointed as ‘Diwali Pahat’ which is organised at different places every year for Diwali festival was cancelled due to the spread of Novel coronavirus.

‘Diwali Pahat’ is being organised in Mumbai for the past many years while in the city it was for the last four to five years. The musical programme has become very popular. There were lakhs of rupees turnover in the programmes and classical music lovers would get an opportunity to listen to soothing music.

Those who are associated with the industry too are unhappy over the cancellation of programme.

Anjali Rajput, a regular visitor of Lokmat Diwali Pahat said that attending ‘Diwali Pahat’ at Lokmat Lawn’ in the early morning had different experience and joy.

Rajput who is member of Sakhi Manch said that the song and musical programme would be in memory throughout the year, but, this year she would miss it.

Some artists who perform in these events said they unemployed as all cultural programmes were cancelled for the past eight months.

They said that they were hoping that everything will be right by Diwali and they would get an opportunity to perform in Diwali Pahat and earn a livelihood.

Hopes of sound, costume, stage decoration, catering service provides, event management and artists were diminished due to cancellation of programmes.
