A case has been registered against government contractor Anil Pundlik Wathore for submitting fake certificates to secure a tender for Jalna Industrial Estate. The complaint was filed by deputy engineer Balu Vitthal Rautray (40) at MIDC, at Vedantnagar Police Station.

In 2021-22, a tender was announced for infrastructure development in Phase-3 of Jalna Industrial Estate. Anil Wathore secured the contract with a bid of over Rs 3.49 crore, which was 18.21% lower than others. The project ran from August 2022 to May 2023, but due to opposition from farmers, final payment estimates were submitted in February 2024. During the process, Wathore submitted a fake certificate claiming work in Akola Industrial Estate. Another contractor, Atul Kailas More, objected, leading to an inquiry that confirmed the forgery. Sub-Inspector Suresh Gengje is investigating. A similar case was recently registered against contractors More and Swapnil Madhukar Mhaske, highlighting growing competition and disputes over tenders.
