The suspect

killed his wife by hitting her head with a big stone and later with a rod at

Pisadevi on Tuesday, which is clear from the post mortem. He also broke the

finger of the hand of his seven years son, who tried to intervene in the

quarrel and and also hit a fist on the face of his three years old daughter. After

the incident, the suspect Siddhesh Gangasagar Trivedi, washed his blood stained

hands and feet and fled away on his scooter. The police could not trace him

even after 40 hours of this incident.

The Chikalthana

police said, Kavita Trivedi, a resident of Rukhmini Square Apartment at

Pisadevi was murdered by hitting on the head and the incident came to the fore

on Tuesday at around 8 pm. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Jagdish

Ishwarrao Avasthi (Lohner, Deola, Nashik), father of the decased at Chikalthana

police station, a case of murder was registered against Siddesh. The post

mortem was conducted on Wednesday morning in which it was found that Kavita was

first strangulated and later was hit hard on the head. There were injury marks

on all of her body. The last rites were performed on her at Pisadevi on

Wednesday at 4 pm.

Under the

guidance of deputy superintendent of police Dr Vishal Nehul, three teams

including Chikalthan Police Station API Vishwas Patil, PSI Thube, constable

Ravindra Salve, Ajit Shekde, Sopan Dakle, Deepak Deshmukh, Deepak Surase, Anna

Gawande and officers of local crime branch have launched a massive manhunt for

Siddhesh.

Siddhesh’s

parents were working at the Aurangabad Agriculture Produce Market Committee.

After the death of his mother, he gained the job as clerk in the committee on

compassionate basis.

Kavita’s parents

called the neighbours on phone on Tuesday at around 5 pm. They told them that

the house was locked and children were crying inside. Hence, the Avasthi family

came from Nashik to Aurangabad. The neighbours then broke the door and found

that Kavita was lying in the pool of blood. The nighbours then informed the

Chikalthana police.
