Aurangabad, April 30:

The state government has announced the implementation of a free vaccination drive for the citizens in the age group of 18 to 44 years from Maharashtra Day (May 1). Three centres have been set up for the vaccination in the jurisdiction of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Each centre will administer vaccines to 100 beneficiaries between 2 pm and 5 pm, on the first day.

Acting upon the orders of the union Government the state government took the decision of implementing the vaccination drive from May 1 in the cabinet meeting held on April 28. The government has supplied a stock of 7,000 vaccines to each district to start the drive from tomorrow.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said, " Under the new drive, the vaccination in the rural areas will be available at District Civil Hospital and Khuldabad centres, while in the urban sector, three vaccination centres have been established at AMC's primary health centre in Mukundwadi, Kaiser Colony (Roshan Gate) and Sadatnagar (Railway Station). Each centre will administer the vaccine to 100 citizens, who had registered their names on Cowin App tomorrow."
