Aurangabad, Oct 31:
All India Trade union Congress (AITUC), the country''s first labour organization, has become 100 years old on October 31 today. The workers saluted Red Flag to mark the occasion at the AITUC office at Khokadpura on Saturday morning following complete social distancing.
Initially, the Red flag was hoised by Communist leader and freedom fighter Adv Manohar Taksal. The Anganwadi employees, vendors, Covid fighter health employees, Videocon workers, rickshaw drivers, industrial workers had come wearing masks and followed social distancing. Dr Ashfaq Salami garlanded the portrait of Gurudas Dasgupta on his first death anniversary.
Labour leader Ram Baheti said, the Modi government is planning to privatize all the public sector industries. However, AITUC is firmly standing behind the workers. He also informed the history of AITUC struggle for the welfare and rights of the unorganized workers.
Meanwhile, the AITUC office was decorated with electric lights and flags on Friday night.
Bhaskar Lahane, Vikas Gaikwad, Tara Bansode, Gajanan Khandare, Mahendra Misal, Shaikh Isaq, Shaikh Babar, Raju Hiwarale, Anita Pawade, Manisha Bhole and others were present. Adv Abhay Taksal proposed a vote of thanks.
The representatives of Anganwadi – Balwadi Karmachari Sanghatana, Shahid Bhagat Singh Hawkers Union, Maharashtra Kamgar Karmachari Sanghatana, All Marathwada Kamgar Union, Videocon Grup Employees Union, Bhimshakti Rojandari Kamgar Union, Lal Bavta Gharelu Molkarin Kamgar union and other organizations were present.
