Aurangabad, Nov 26:

Incharge principal of Y B Chavan College of Pharmacy Dr Bawazir Abubakar Salam and a Professor Dr Dehghan Mohamed Hassan got patent for their herbal formula on different bacterial, fungal diseases treatment.

The Patent Office of Government of India granted the patent entitled ‘A Topical Antimicrobial Herbal Formulation’ based essential oil extraction (from ‘melaleuca leucadendron linn and extracts of pandanus tectorius Soland ex Parkinson, along with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients) effective against various bacterial and fungal diseases’.

The teachers of the colleges submitted 15 patent applications while three were granted so far while others are waiting for the approval.

Chairman of Maulana Azad Educational Trust Dr Fatma Rafiq Zakaria and the management have congratulated the principal and the professor on their achievement.
