Aurangabad, June 1:

A 36-year-old man from Sanjaynagar (Baijipura) has committed suicide by hanging to a tree, located in the courtyard of the house, on May 31 night.

The deceased has been identified as Shaikh Asif Shaikh Anwar and was working in a hardware shop. However, he was sitting without a job at home as the shops were closed owing to the lockdown. On May 31, his family members had gone to attend a marriage of a relative. As a result, he was alone in the house. Asif hanged himself to the tree existing in the open space of the house with a rope. The family came to know about the incident after returning home. They rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but the doctors at the casualty ward declared him dead on examination. Jinsi police station has registered an offence of accidental death.

Meanwhile, the police have recovered a suicide note from his pocket. It stated that he is ending life on his own, therefore, nobody should be held responsible for it. The head constable J G Jedhar is investigating the case.
