Former Australia captain Cameron White has announced his retirememt from International cricket. A powerful middle order batsman and right-arm leg-spin bowler, White made his first-class cricket debut as a teenager in the 2000–01 season for the Victorian Bushrangers as a bowling all-rounder. White represented Australia in four tests and 91 ODIs. In 2003–04, he became Victoria's youngest ever captain at the age of 20 when he took over leadership of their one-day side, and the first-class captaincy followed the season after. International recognition came for the first time in 2005, but White found himself in and out of the side as the selectors and national captain Ricky Ponting looked for White to improve his bowling to play as a front-line spinner.

White who will turn 37 this week, will continue to play at Premier Cricket level as captain of Melbourne Cricket Club while he is eager to try his hand at coaching. I've definitely finished up playing, that's for sure," he told cricket.com.au."I had a one-year playing contract with the Strikers. I only played a handful of games with them last year and in those games I would have needed to play really well to get another deal. "To be totally honest, I'm pretty content. I think my time is definitely up, I've had enough from a playing point of view and I'm ready to focus on coaching."Nickamed as the Bear, White represented, Royal Challengers and Sunrisers Hyderabad and Deccan Chargers in the IPL.
