After Rohit Sharma replace Virat Kohli, as an ODI captain since then many Virat fans seem very disappointed and balming the  BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Rohit Sharma for this unfair decision to which Sourav Ganguly replied and blamed Kohli for his own sacking, Ganguly indirectly told a news portal that he had personally requested Virat Kohli not to stop the T20I captaincy role ahead of the T20 World Cup but he didn’t listen to him and did what he wanted to do.

He said “It's like I said… I personally requested him (Kohli) not to give up the T20I captaincy. Obviously, he felt the workload. Which is fine, he has been a great cricketer, he has been very intense with his cricket. He has been captained for a long period of time and these things happen. Because I have captained for a long period of time; therefore, I know,”.

Even before the World Cup Kohli decided to give up captaincy due to workload. He announced this news on Social media but he also said that he would like to continue leading the side in the ODI and Test cricket.
But Ganguly didn't feel the same and he didn't wanted two captains for the Indian team so the officials decided to hand over the reins to Rohit Sharma of both formats.

“Also, they wanted only one white-ball captain. And that's why this decision. I don't know what's going to happen in the future. But as I said, it's a good team and it has some fantastic players and I hope they will turn it around,” said the BCCI president.
But netizens are thinking that Ganguly is biased towards Rohit Sharma, as two captains for one team is not new in India, Indian cricket women team also had two captains in past years, so the same can also happen in the men team.
