Marcus Stoinis hit a flurry of boundaries towards the end, scoring 53 off 21 balls to power Delhi Capitals to 157 for 8 after being sent in to bat first by KXIP in the second match of IPL 2020 in Dubai. Rishabh Pant and Iyer had put together a good stand after Mohammed Shami struck twice in one over but they too were dismissed in quick succession. It was Stoinis who then took matters in his own hands smashing everything out of the park to DC to a very good score, which once looked way out of their reach.

Shami was exceptional with the new ball and coupled with the Delhi top-order's reckless shot-making, they slipped to 13 for three inside the Powerplay. Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant led the recovery through a 50-plus stand although both fell in consecutive overs to hand back the advantage to KXIP, who made a mini-comeback only for Stoinis to give the perfect finish. With no Gayle in the side and wicket likely to slow down, the target is a bit tricky.
