Mumbai head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that the team will assess his condition before selecting him. “Rohit had an unfortunate impact on his leg while batting, so he felt uncomfortable. We were travelling yesterday. He will have a hit today, and then we will assess his condition,” Jayawardene said on Sunday.
The veteran batter has struggled for form and scored only 21 runs in three innings this season. He started with a duck against Chennai Super Kings. He managed eight runs against Gujarat Titans and 13 against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, Mumbai Indians have received a major boost with the return of Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer, who was sidelined with a lower back injury, has been cleared by the BCCI Centre of Excellence. If all goes well, Bumrah will be available for selection against RCB.
