Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai on Sunday at the age of 92, bringing an end to a remarkable chapter in Indian music history. She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been admitted on Saturday evening after suffering from severe fatigue and a chest infection. News of her demise left the film industry deeply saddened, with several prominent celebrities expressing grief. Actors like Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were among the many who paid heartfelt tributes to the iconic singer and remembered her timeless contribution to music.

Taking to social media platform X, Akshay Kumar shared an emotional message, stating that words were insufficient to describe the sorrow he felt over her passing, and added that her melodious voice would remain immortal forever. He wrote, "No words can convey the loss I feel at Asha Bhosle ji’s demise. Unki surily awaaz hamesha hamesha ke liye amar rahegi. Om Shanti."

Raveena Tandon also expressed deep grief, describing the loss as irreplaceable both for the industry and for her personally. She recalled being an ardent admirer of the singer since childhood and said that no one could ever match her talent. She stated Asha Bhosle’s legacy of music is unparalleled, and her passing signifies the end of a golden era in the industry.

Filmmaker Karan Johar also penned an emotional note, stating that calling her a legend would be an understatement. Confirming the cause of death, Dr Pratit Samdani stated that Asha Bhosle passed away due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital. Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news and shared details about her final rites. He informed that the public could pay their last respects at Casa Grande in Lower Parel at 11 am, where she resided, while the last rites would be conducted at Shivaji Park at 4 pm.
