On the last day of the festival, the tradition of Ganesh Visarjan takes place. The concluding day of the 10-day Ganesh festival is also popularly known as Anant Chaturdashi. Anant Chaturdashi is the last day of the festival when the tradition of Ganesh Visarjan takes place.

'Visarjan' means immersion of Lord Ganapati's idol that takes place in a river, sea or water body. This year due to coronavirus outbreak Ganesh Visarjan will not be celebrated in grand manner. The BMC has made arrangements for artificial visarjan spots. Citizens will not be allowed to do visarjan in natural spots on their own. The concerned ward offices will make arrangements for idol collection where citizens will give the idol and the civic body will immerse the idols by following all the rituals.

Chech out the Dos and don'ts of Ganesh Visarjan rituals:

- Do not conduct visarjan rituals at wrong time.

- Do not conduct visarjan without giving Bappa his favorite food.

- Do not forget to sing aarti while giving farewell to Bappa.

- Make sure to keep your house door open after Bappa is taken out for the visarjan. One of the familyy member should be at home and keep the door open until the family returns after the immersion.

- If possible, people must carry out the immersion process at home in a bucket or a drum.

- One can also immerse the idol to natural water bodies such as ponds and lakes can go to the designated site for the visarjan. And for those who are staying near artificial ponds and water tanks can head to such authorised spots for the visarjan.

- The final puja and aarti must be performed at home and not at the visarjan site.

- Devotees must follow all the social distancing rules, wear a mask and sanitize.

- There should be no procession and people must not gather in large numbers.

-Devotees must not immerse the idols on their own when they visit immersion spots. Instead, they must hand over the idol of Lord Ganesha to the staff.
