Maharashtra's gram panchayat elections, vote counting is currently underway. Voting for the 14,000 gram panchayats across the state took place on Friday on January 15. Maharashtra's ruling Shiv Sena is ahead of the BJP in the gram panchayat elections, counting of which is currently on.

Most of the trends in the count has now become clear. Against that backdrop, Congress state president and revenue minister in the Mahavikas Aghadi government Balasaheb Thorat has made a big claim about the results. Thorat has claimed that the parties in the Mahavikas Aghadi have got 80 per cent seats in the Gram Panchayat elections.

Reacting to the Gram Panchayat results, Balasaheb Thorat said that in the Gram Panchayat elections, the parties in the Mahavikas Aghadi are getting 80 per cent seats in the entire state. Through these results, people have shown their faith and appreciated the work done by the Mahavikas Aghadi government over the last year. "People are satisfied with our work," Thorat said.

Thorat also expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Congress in this election. In some districts, the Congress has done very well. Balasaheb Thorat has also claimed that the Congress will come to power in 4000-4500 gram panchayats.

Meanwhile, Balasaheb Thorat has slammed the BJP over the election results. The BJP has suffered a major setback in this Gram Panchayat election. BJP's retreat is the feature of this Gram Panchayat election. Chandrakant Patil himself could not win Gram Panchayat election in his own village, said Balasaheb Thorat.
