Former Maharashtra CM and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday was appointed party's Bihar in-charge, ahead of Bihar Legislative Assembly elections 2020.

The formal announcement came a day after Fadnavis asserted that the BJP alliance was “far ahead” of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar and will win the assembly election with a thumping majority.

The Assembly elections in Bihar will be held in three phases on 28th October, 3rd and 7th November. The results will be announced on 10th November, announced Election Commission.

The Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) is an ally of the BJP in that state.
