The budget of the richest BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation in the world is being presented today. Earlier, the Education Department presented the budget for 2021-22. Joint Commissioner Ramesh Pawar presented the budget to the Chairman of the Education Committee Sandhya Doshi.

Before starting to present the budget of BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation's Education Committee, Joint Commissioner Ramesh Pawar mistakenly drank sanitiser from a bottle. Water bottle and sanitizer were kept together at the event.

The incident happened when Pawar was presenting the budget of the Education Department for the year 2021-22. Fortunately, the BMC official soon realised it was not water and kept the bottle aside. One of the officers tried to stop him from drinking the sanitiser, but by then he had already taken the sip. Soon after Pawar was offered a bottle of water to drink by an official.

The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday announced the allocation of funds for its education budget for the year 2021-22. The budgetary estimates for the year are set at ₹2945.78 crore, which is marginally higher than that of the previous year wherein the budgetary estimates were ₹2944.59 crore.
