The COVID-19 lockdown in Maharashtra has been extended till June 15. However, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said certain relaxations and restrictions will be enforced depending on the case tally of districts. All essential shops that are currently allowed to operate between 7-11 am may be allowed to operate between 7 am to 2 pm. MVA government's latest decision is currently making the rounds on the internet. The restrictions are earning mixed reactions from the public. 

Reacting on the latest development, Mr. Rishi Darda, Editorial Director and Jt Managing Director of Lokmat Media posted a twitter poll Is, lockdown extension justified. 42% of the people agreed with CM Uddhav Thackeray's decision which stated that the current lockdown restrictions will help Mumbaikars overcome the COVID-19 crisis which has plagued the state. On the other hand, 30% of the population were of the view that the latest announcement on lockdown is no big loss to the state. Wherein 28% of the people did not pay much heed to the announcement as they are used to living within the restricted environment.  One of the twitter users taking a hilarious dig at the MVA govt had urged the CM to put a lockdown on rent and emis due to the loss in business. As per the last update issued by the health department on May 30, Maharashtra recorded its lowest per-day count of infections in over two months.
