The Maharashtra government has approved around Rs 800 crore from the treasury for dearness allowance (DA) arrears to pay employees with May 2026 salaries under the 5th, 6th and 7th Pay Commissions. Ex-service officers will get 2% increase in DA.

Pensioners and family pension beneficiaries will receive the revised DA at 60% with retrospective effect from January this year, according to the FPJ.

As per the report, the DA hike for employees under 5th, 6th and 7th Pay Commissions had been pending for December 2026 and January 2026. The Finance Department issued three separate government resolutions to implement the revision, FPJ reported.
