Maharashtra: Woman dies by suicide after cop rapes her multiple times on gunpoint

A 32-year-old woman from Osmanabad, Maharashtra died by suicide by hanging herself at her residence on Tuesday. The deceased woman had left a suicide note before her death.

According to the note, the woman alleged that an employee of the Osmanabad police force use to repeatedly sexually assault her at gunpoint. The cause of suicide is said to be harassment from the police office.

Therefore, the husband of the deceased woman lodged a complaint in the police station against the concerned police personnel late at night. The complaint states that his wife committed suicide after being intimidated and tortured by the police personnel from September 2020.

The police have registered a case against the accused for sexual harassment and incitement to suicide.
