On September 9, the Supreme Court directed that no quota will be granted to people of the Maratha community in education and jobs in the state this year and referred the hearing on a batch of plea challenging the constitutional validity of a Maharashtra law granting Maratha reservation in education and jobs to a larger bench.

The Maratha Arakshan Action Samiti on Monday announced that a roundtable conference will be held on September 23 in Kolhapur, which will see  many pro-Maratha outfits participate to discuss future course of action.

More than 50 organizations from the state will participate in this, informed the leader of Maratha Arakshan Action Samiti Suresh Patil in a press conference on Monday.

He said that the conference will be held following all the rules of the government to contain covid-19 spread. The conference will be held on 23rd September at 12 noon at Raoji Mangal office.

Suresh Patil further said that, Maratha community is not happy with the MVA government and said that it has failed to represent the important issue as firm legal stand.
