The Supreme Court on Wednesday posted for January 25, 2021, the hearing of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of a Maharashtra law that grants reservation to the Maratha community in education and jobs.

Against this backdrop, ESBC and SEBC Maratha candidates, who were awaiting appointment before the stay order by Supreme court, will go on a hunger strike on December 14 and 15 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

In the zoom meeting of Maratha Kranti Morcha held on Friday (Dec. 10), the decision was taken unanimously by the coordinators. 

On behalf of Sakal Maratha Samaj-Maratha Kranti Morcha, an appeal was made to the MLAs to resolve the issue of appointment of ESBC and SEBC candidates, speeding up of Sarathi Sanstha, Annasaheb Patil Mahamandal, case of accused in Kopardi, withdrawal of remaining cases against youth of Maratha movement.
