Anil Deshmukh has lost his post as Home Minister following allegations leveled against him by Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh.

Meanwhile, the NIA, which is probing the Scorpio and Mansukh Hiren murder cases, has also launched an inquiry into Parambir Singh in the case.

Parambir Singh arrived at the NIA office on Wednesday morning. There, he will file a reply, and will be questioned by the NIA about the Antilia bomb scare case and the Mansukh Hiren murder case, as well as the special powers granted to controversial police officer Sachin Vaze.

Meanwhile, a report by the Mumbai Police Commissioner is also likely to increase problems of Parambir Singh. The report says that after Sachin Vaze was re-instated to the police department, Parambir Singh handed over the investigation of several important cases to Sachin Vaze.

It has also come to light that Sachin Vaze used to be with Parambir Singh while briefing the ministers on important issues.

Vaze, Assistant Police Inspector in the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) who was in charge of the Hiran case, was in NIA custody till March 25, for his alleged role and involvement in placing the explosives-laden vehicle outside the residence of Ambani. Hiren, the owner of the vehicle that was found containing explosives materials outside the house of the Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, was found dead on March 5 in Thane.

In addition, after the removal of Parambir Singh from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner, Parambir Singh had written a letter to the Chief Minister alleging that the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had set a recovery target of Rs 100 crore. Anil Deshmukh, who was in trouble over the allegations, had to resign as Home Minister.
