Indian Drug Mafia Operative Salim Dola Caught in Turkey; Linked to Global Narcotics Network

In a major breakthrough, Indian security agencies have confirmed the detain of notorious drug mafia operative Salim Dola in Istanbul. The arrest was carried out by Turkish security agencies during a significant operation targeting international drug trafficking networks.

According to sources, Salim Dola has long been a key player in a global synthetic drug network, with operations spread across multiple countries. Investigators believe his network had deep international links, making him a major figure in cross-border narcotics trafficking.

In a shocking revelation, officials indicated that the drug racket is allegedly connected to the network of India’s most wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The links are currently under investigation and could expose a wider criminal nexus.

Earlier, in November 2025, Mumbai Police had arrested four members of Dola’s family, including his son Tahir Dola, after bringing them from Dubai to India. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had also announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for information leading to Salim Dola’s capture and had issued a Red Corner Notice against him.

Sources further revealed that Dola was allegedly operating his network from Dubai, controlling a major drug supply chain into India. Security agencies claim he possesses a Saudi Arabian passport.

However, officials noted that extraditing or deporting Dola to India from Turkey may be legally challenging. As a result, Indian agencies are exploring options through international channels, particularly via the United Arab Emirates, to secure his custody.

Authorities believe that Dola’s arrest could lead to significant disclosures and help dismantle the larger drug trafficking network. Originally active in Mumbai’s Dongri area, Salim Dola is believed to be a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim.

Further investigations are underway.
