Following heavy rainfall in Mumbai, severe waterlogging at Andheri Railway Station led to major disruptions in train services and heavy traffic congestion across the city. While the water has since receded, train operations have resumed with delays, and services are expected to return to normal gradually.

The city experienced extensive waterlogging in multiple areas, causing significant challenges for commuters and resulting in traffic bottlenecks. Several local trains were delayed, and some were rescheduled as heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and surrounding areas since Wednesday evening. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai until 8 AM on Thursday. The downpour also impacted vehicular traffic, local train services on the central line, and some flights.

Commuters were stranded at various stations due to waterlogging on the tracks between Kurla and Thane, which affected both local and express train services. In response to the red alert, the civic bodies of Mumbai and Thane have declared Thursday, September 26, a holiday for schools and colleges. The BMC stated, "All schools and colleges under BMC's jurisdiction will remain closed on Thursday, considering the safety of the students."For Thursday, the IMD has issued a red alert for Palghar and Nashik, with an orange alert for Thane, Raigad, Mumbai, and Pune.
