The second phase of the covaxin made in India will begin from October 6. The 50 persons include 8 children in the age group of 12 to 18 years, 5 senior citizens in the age group of 60 to 65 years, 22 women and 15 men in different age groups. The first dose of the first phase and the first dose of the second phase did not show any side effects of the vaccine, said Chandrasekhar Gillurkar.

Human testing of Bharat Biotech''s ''Covaxin'' vaccine began in July. Gillurkar Multispeciality Hospital in Nagpur got permission for conducting this test. In the first phase, the hospital vaccinated 55 people. After 14, 28 and 42 days, their blood samples were taken and sent for testing. But the effect of the vaccine has not yet come to light. The second phase began in the first week of September. The first dose was given to 50 individuals between the ages of 12 and 65. They will be given a second dose from Tuesday. Before that their blood samples will be taken. After 28 and 42 days, blood samples will be taken again and sent to the laboratory.

Third phase is likely to start soon

After the successful completion of the first phase, the second dose of the second phase will start from Tuesday. The third phase is expected to start soon after the report. The hospital team is monitoring the health of all the vaccinated Corona Warriors.
