Nagpur, June 11

Five people including a couple were injured in a collision between two cars on Sadar’s flyover. The accident that happened on Friday morning, the police pulled out the injured people by cutting the door of the car.

Dilip Thakre 50, resident of Vaibhav Nagar, Dighori, is working with with Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) Sillewara mines. He was going to duty along with his colleague Krishna Wankhede at 8.30 am in Alto car registration number MH/31/BK/507. They were going in the direction of Mankapur Square from Sadar flyover. Sunil Kanade, a resident of Multai, his wife Mamta Kanade and relative Vijay Deshmukh were coming in Maruti Baleno car registration number MP/04/VG/8506 from opposite direction and they collided head-on in front of Poonam Chamber.

The collision was so strong that Thakre who was driving the car, got stuck badly inside on the front seat. Sadar police reached the spot. The police pulled out Thakre by cutting the door of Alto. His companion, the Kanade couple and Vijay Deshmukh, who were in the Maruti Baleno car, were also injured. The police sent everyone to hospital. The Kanade couple and Thakre suffered heavy injuries due to the collision. It was raining at the time of the accident. The Baleno driver may have lost control, due to rains.
