Nagpur, April 19

During lockdown the players discovered various methods to keep them physically fit and Vidarbha pacer Rajneesh Gurbani is no exception to this. India 'A' speedster Gurbani shared a video on Instagram knocking the ball with bat at his drawing room and captioned 'My ground until lockdown'. Pacer's team colleagues Akshay Wadkar, Nachiket Bhute, Akshay Karnewar, Aditya Thakre, Atharva Taide etc liked the video. When in comment section Sarvate questioned why are u not in UK? Gurbnai replied 'In sometime soon'.

All the cricketing activities are on hold in the city following the restrictions that has been implemented. Rajneesh who has been hired by UK based Cowlyn Bay Cricket Club for one year was supposed to join his county team in April but he is waiting for the letter from the county team.

Talking to Lokmat Times he said, “ Actually I am waiting for a letter from the county team. My first match is slated on May 8 and once I receive it I will immediately fly to UK”.

When asked why the delay in starting county season there Gurbani revealed that the weather condition is very extreme where the ground of Cowlyn Bay Cricket Club is located in UK. “ The weather is very extreme and at present, there is snow everywhere. That may be the reason behind delay”, he said.

It may be mentioned here that Gurbani was looking for a county stint earlier but then he was selected in India 'A' team for the UK tour. In fact VCA vice-president and former Indian cricket Prashant Vaidya had advised him to join any county team to sharpen his skills . So far Gurbani has played 30 first-class , 25 list A and 17 T20 matches. He has taken 97 wickets in first class, 24 in List A and 14in T20 matches.

Gurbani hogged the limelight during Vidarbha''s Ranji Trophy maiden final against Delhi at Indore by taking a hat-trick. Prior to that he stunned Kerala with four wickets in the quarter-final, which sent them hurtling to a 412-run defeat.
