A Delhi Court on Sunday sent AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal and other accused to four days police remand, both were arrested yesterday in connection with a doctor's alleged suicide case.

Duty Magistrate Nitika Kapoor after hearing the submission of Delhi Police decided to send both the accused for four days police demand. Delhi Police had sought ten days remand for them.

Public prosecutor appearing for Delhi Police while seeking police custody of the accused stated that offence being heinous in nature, the investigation is at the preliminary stage and certain recoveries are to be made from both the accused persons.

It is also averred that there is a nexus between accused Prakash Jarwal and tanker mafia who are operating the water tankers in the area of Deoli and Sangam Vihar and their role is to be ascertained. It is further averred that the extortion money received by both the accused persons is yet to be recovered from the accused persons and voice samples of both the accused persons have to be collected so that the same can be compared with the recording of the threat call received by the deceased.

Whereas Lawyer Mohd Irshad appearing for Prakash Jarwal opposed the remand application of Delhi police and said therein that no purpose would be served by sending the accusedpersons to police custody as no recovery remains to be effected.

It is further averred that accused persons are ready and willing to cooperate in the investigation as and when needed. It is further submitted by the Defence counsel that both the accused persons being known personalities have been falsely implicated in the present case.

The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested Jarwal and Kapil Nagar, the two accused in a doctor's suicide case. The two accused were earlier in the day questioned by a police team.

A Delhi Court had recently issued a non-bailable warrant for both the accused persons in an abetment to suicide case. Dr Rajinder Singh (52) committed suicide by hanging himself on April 18.

His son, filed an FIR, with police alleging that his father who was a doctor also supplied water tanker to DJB. He claimed that Singh was in the business of supplying tankers since 2007 and he was upset because of monetary loss.

The family of deceased claim that suspects demanded money and failing which the payment was stopped. AAP MLA from Deoli, had denied the charges.

Jarwal had also moved an anticipatory bail stating that he is co-operating with the Police authorities in the investigation.
