A bridge connecting Govindghat and Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand collapsed on Wednesday, March 5, after boulders fell on it due to a landslide. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a change in the weather from March 8. The bridge was the only route to Hemkund Sahib. Landslides have brought down several large stones onto the path, and one person has reportedly been injured. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that a team has been sent to the site.

The weather in Chamoli district has taken another turn. On Tuesday morning, snowfall was reported in high-altitude areas, including Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Gaursa and Auli, while lower regions experienced rain. By the afternoon, there was a brief spell of sunshine amid cloudy skies.
