Union Minister of State for Health Dr Bharti Pawar's statement in the monsoon session of Parliament has drawn criticism from the Union government. "No deaths have been reported in the country due to lack of oxygen," Pawar wrote in Parliament. Netizens, including opposition parties, have criticized the government. Meanwhile, a video of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also going viral after this reply.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also expressed displeasure over the Centre's reply and demanded that a murder case be filed against the government. Netizens, on the other hand, have slammed the central government. Also, an old video of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has gone viral. In it, he said, many patients in the country have died due to lack of oxygen.

Former IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh has also targeted the Center. According to Modi, there was no shortage of oxygen in UP, Yogi Adityanath handled the situation well. So, were the people of UP fond of dying, died themselves ?. Remember, the Prayagraj High Court had said that the death of a patient due to lack of oxygen in Uttar Pradesh was a crime. No less than genocide. Only you are true, the rest is false ....

Speaking to ANI, Sanjay Raut said, "I am shocked to hear the statement of the Union Minister. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost due to lack of oxygen in the country. How will those who lost loved ones feel after hearing the statement of the Union Minister? The central government is lying, a case should be filed against them, "Raut demanded.

This comes a day after the Centre, while responding to a question by Congress MP KC Venugopal during the Parliament monsoon session on whether a large number of COVID-19 patients died on roads and hospitals due to acute shortage of oxygen in the second wave, said that no deaths due to lack of oxygen had been specifically reported by states/Union Territories during the second wave of COVID-19. In the written reply, Minister of State for Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar stated that health is a state subject and accordingly all states/UTs report cases and deaths to the Union Health Ministry on a regular basis.

The devastating second COVID-19 wave that overwhelmed the country's healthcare infrastructure and resulted in thousands of deaths daily. COVID-19 cases surged dangerously from April to June, and peaked in May with over 4-lakh cases in 24 hours. An all-time high of deaths too was reported during the same period. Hospitals across the country reported severe oxygen shortages for several days and private hospitals in the national capital approached the High Court. Several hospital administrations in different states have alleged that the shortage of oxygen resulted in the death of several patients.
