The ongoing controversy on the cult film 'Mr India' being remade by director Ali Abbas Zafar seem to has no end. The announcement of remake of the movie has not really been appreciated by the makers of the original film.
Javed Akhtar who wrote the film with Salim Khan has tweeted to Shekhar Kapoor that, he can’t ignore his work as the writer by solely taking the credit for the film.
Even actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja had something to say about the remake, she said it was “disrespectful” that the architects of the 1987 blockbuster -- director Kapur and her father, actor Anil Kapoor -- hadn’t been consulted for the remake. Kapur had also expressed his displeasure over the project.
The film, written by Salim Khan and Akhtar, featured Anil Kapoor as Mr India and late Sridevi as a journalist, with veteran actor Amrish Puri playing the iconic villain Mogambo.
