A major fire broke out at the Turbhe dumping ground in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, sending plumes of thick, black smoke billowing into the sky. The blaze, which is believed to have started around midday, quickly intensified, prompting immediate action from local authorities and firefighting teams.

Firefighters were rushed to the scene as thick smoke began to spread across nearby areas, posing a potential health hazard to residents living in close proximity. As the fire raged on, visibility was severely affected, and the acrid smell of burning waste lingered in the air, making it difficult for people to go about their daily activities.

The Turbhe dumping ground, one of Navi Mumbai’s largest waste disposal sites, houses a large volume of garbage, including plastics, chemicals, and other inflammable materials, which may have fueled the intensity of the fire. Emergency response teams struggled to control the flames, working tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby industrial and residential areas.

Local residents expressed concerns over the fire’s potential long-term environmental impact, including air pollution and the risk of hazardous materials being released into the atmosphere. As firefighters continued their efforts to bring the situation under control, health officials urged nearby residents to stay indoors and keep windows closed to minimize exposure to harmful smoke particles.
