India's goal of overtaking China in mobile manufacturing; Government's 'plan' prepared

The government has emphasized on making the electronics business more than Rs. 26 lakh crore by 2025. Of this, Rs 13 lakh crore is expected to come from the mobile manufacturing sector.

Ravi Shankar Prasad also said that the PIL scheme was launched under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India number one in the mobile manufacturing sector. The main objective of this scheme is to bring the best mobile companies in the world to India.

Eligible companies can get incentives up to Rs 48,000 crore under the PIL scheme launched by the government.

Under the PIL scheme, the government has approved 16 contracts worth a total of Rs 11,000 crore between domestic and international companies. Through this agreement, Rs 10.5 lakh crore will be invested in the mobile manufacturing sector in the next five years.
