Chennai, July 15 The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), here on Wednesday, said its members and supporters would hold protests at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday outside their homes against the obscene video about Tamil god Murugan and the prayer 'Kanda Shasti Kavacham' sung in his praise, posted by Karuppar Koottam on its YouTube channel.

The BJP said the protest would be against Tamil traitors and anti-Hindu group, who in the garb of Karuppar Koottam had posted the video. A police complaint has also been lodged by the BJP urging blocking of the Karuppar Koottam channel.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu police have arrested cartoonist Surendra Kumar or Varma Cartoonist for his alleged offensive cartoon against Islam on the social media.

Varma had demanded the Muslim organisations to condemn Muslims behind the Karuppar Koottam that had put the video on YouTube. Varma also threatened to put out a cartoon against Islam.

Lord Murugan or Karthikeyan is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
