The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has presented a budget of Rs 12,618 crore for the financial year 2025-26, with a key focus on cleanliness, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Notably, there will be no increase in taxes for Pune residents.

The budget was presented to the Standing Committee by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, in the presence of Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P., Upper Commissioner Mahesh Patil, Finance and Accounts Officer Ulka Kalaskar, City Engineer Prashant Waghmare, and Municipal Secretary Yogita Bhosale.

Key Highlights of the Budget:

  • Rs 623 crore allocated for 32 newly included villages within the municipal limits, aimed at improving infrastructure in these areas.
  • Completion of the Uniform Water Supply Scheme, meaning Pune residents will now pay water bills based on meter readings.
  • Rehabilitation of flood-affected houses in Ekta Nagri (Sinhagad Road), with dedicated budget provisions for the project.
  • A Deputy Commissioner-level committee to be formed for addressing citizen complaints and resolving issues efficiently.

  • Goods and Services Tax (GST): 26%
  • Income Tax: 23%
  • Urban Development Charges: 23%
  • Government Grants: 13%
  • Water Board: 5%
  • Amrut and Smart City Initiatives: 2%
  • Other Deposits: 6%
  • Debt Bonds: 2%

Expenditure Allocation:

  • Development Works and Projects: 41%
  • Employee Salaries and Expenses: 29%
  • Petrol, Maintenance, Repairs and Medicines: 21%
  • Electricity and Repairs: 3%
  • Water Supply Expenses: 1%
  • Loan Repayment and Interest: 1%
  • Ward-Level Works: 1%
  • Regional Office Works: 1%
  • Amrut and Smart City Initiatives: 2%
