The Pune city civic administration has cracked down on illegal hookah bars and late-night pubs after various incidents, however, the party goers have shifted their base to the Pimpri-Chinchwad police Commissionerate limits.
Shocking revelations have come to light after a sting operation conducted by the LokmatTimes.com reporter in the Ravet area of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where late-night bars and pubs are openly serving alcohol and hookah beyond permissible hours right behind the Ravet Police station.

LokmatTimes.com reporter visited Top 87 restaurant at Bhondwa Chowk in Ravet and found banned hookah being served to patrons. Our reporter, while conversing with one of the captains serving in the restaurant, revealed that the restaurant serves food, alcohol and hookah till 6:30 am. Our reporter pretended to throw a party for his friends and inquired about the hotel operations.
Reporter: What all do you serve?
Captain: We serve all types of hookas and alcohol.
Reporter: Till what does the restaurant operate?
Captain: Regularly we operate till 4:30 am, the gate is closed at 12:30 am but we allow people inside if they call us, and if there is a party we can serve you till 6:30 am we work two shifts here.
As per guidelines the hotels and pubs are asked to shut operations till 12:30 am however, it has been observed that the pubs and hookah bars are violating the guidelines right under the nose of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police. Pune city has witnessed various incidents concerning drunk driving after late-night parties. The Pimpri-Chinchwad citizens feel that the civic administration is neglecting the late-night operations of hotels serving illegal hookahs in the Pimpri-Chinchwad police limits waiting for a major incident to occur in the city.
