NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has updated its users that, due to the financial year closing, some banks are facing intermittent transaction declines. They also confirm that UPI is not down, and it is working fine. We are taking necessary measures. In its X post, NPCI said, "Today, due to the financial year closing, some of the banks are facing intermittent transaction declines. UPI system is working fine, and we are working with the concerned banks for necessary redressal." Meanwhile, The State Bank of India (SBI) also shared a post informing its customers about the service interruption. The post says, “Due to Annual Closing activities, our digital Services will be unavailable to our esteemed customers between 01:00 pm to 04:00 pm (IST) on 01.04.2025. We request you to use UPI Lite and ATM Channels for uninterrupted services. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”SBI TweetFew days back, users across India reported that they are facing issues to do online payments. Many faced difficulties completing transactions as popular payment platforms and banking apps stopped functioning. The disruption affected both individuals and businesses relying on digital payments. The cause of the outage remains unclear. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made digital payments easier for both feature phone and smartphone users with UPI 123Pay. Using UPI 123Pay, you can make transactions up to Rs 10,000 without an internet connection.Voice Payments through IVR: Users without smartphones can make payments via Interactive Voice Response (IVR). By dialing a specific IVR number, users can complete payments by following prompts on their keypad.Proximity Sound-Based Payments: This method enables payments through a special tone on a proximity device (POD). You can make the payment by tapping your phone on the POD device.Missed Call Payments: To pay via missed call, users dial a specific number and receive a call back, where they can confirm the transaction by entering their UPI PIN.Feature Phone App Payments: Users with feature phones can also make UPI payments through an app on their device.These options make UPI accessible even without a smartphone or internet connection, further expanding the reach of digital payments across India.
