Aurangabad, Nov 3:

As many as 117 retired primary teachers of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will get the benefit of Fifth Pay Commission recommendations after 15 years wait.

The AMC received Government’s 50 per cent share of Rs 22.95 lakh for the teachers. But, the officers kept avoiding to deposit the money into teachers accounts.

Unfortunately, 25 teachers out of total 117, have died in wait. District Pensioners Association office-bearers delegation led by its president Vasant Sabnis met administrator Astik Kumar Pandey on Monday and apprised him of injustice with the retired teachers.

The administrator directed the education officer, chief accounts officers to release the amount received from the Government into retired teachers bank account immediately.

The process of depositing the amount into pensioners accounts got impetus.

The association requested the administrator to release the remaining 50 pc share of the AMC. Besides Sabnis, N A Ghuge, Janardhan Amrutkar, J B Shevale and some retired teachers were in the delegation.
