33,000 doctors and staff to be vaccinated in first phase

Aurangabad, Dec 9:

District collector Sunil Chavan has appealed to the doctors, health officers and staff, nurses, paramedical staff, sanitary workers, ward boys, all the staff working in the hospitals, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers to go to the nearest government health center and register for the corona vaccine. To date, 33,000 doctors and staff have been registered from the government and private hospitals. Still, staff of some private hospitals are not registered.

On Wednesday, Chavan held a discussion regarding vaccination planning in the district, with the representative of the World Health Organization, Dr Mujib Sayyed, district health officer Sudhakar Shelke, Dr Vijay Wagh and others. The vaccination programme will cover health workers in government and private hospitals as well as horticultural workers. The concerned person will be informed about the date, time of vaccination, information about the vaccination center through SMS. Planning for cold storage for vaccines is underway, the district collector said. The complete list of those registered in the health sector will be available online with the health department.

Vaccination in second phase

Vaccinations will be given to the police, SRPF and army personnel working on the frontline during the Covid-19 period. This will be followed by civilians over 50 years of age and later those below 50 years of age with other illnesses.
