Overtaking a truck proved fatal for four motorcycle-borne youths who were crushed to death by another oncoming truck. The horrific accident took place on Wednesday at 11 am on Ahmednagar-Daund Road, near Pawarwadi hamlet.

The police said the youths were on a motorbike. As they attempted to overtake a sugarcane laden truck, their motorbike collided head-on with another truck coming from the opposite direction. The youths were going to their home village Lonivyankanath and the truck was on its way to Satara.

The impact of the accident was so severe that three youths -- Raj Vithal Pawar, Vishal Sonawane and Bajirao Barkade -- died on the spot and the fourth Pratik Narsing Shinde breathed his last due to excessive bleeding on way to the hospital.
