Aurangabad, April 30:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today have detected 40 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

20 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) on Friday. The health teams tested 248 persons and found seven infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 96 and detected five at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 202 and found five at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 426 and detected one at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 182 and detected one at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and one was detected by testing of 142 at Jhalta Phata PoE.

15 passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

A total of 12 passengers arriving by train and three by air, in the city on Thursday, have been reported as Covid-19 positives today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 57 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and 25 passengers arriving at Chikalthana Airport on April 29. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 103 train passengers arriving at the railway station only (cancellation of flight service) on April 30. The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.

One Covid-19 spreader detected on roads

The 12 mobile teams (comprising AMC health and police personnel) have conducted antigen tests of 133 persons moving on the roads, in the jurisdiction of 15 police stations, and detected one Covid-19 patient on Friday. The testing is done in two shifts (from 9 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 1 am) and there are six teams in each shift.

Four patients in a government office

The health teams conducted antigen tests on visitors at various government offices in the city on Friday. The team detected four infected patients by testing 23 visitors at the High Court. The testing was done in the offices of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, police commissionerate office, Divisional Commissionerate, District Collectorate, etc. but no one was found infected by Coronavirus.
