Aurangabad, June 7:

A six-year-old girl, have died after hearing the thunderous sound of lightning in the sky, at Takshsheelanagar (in Jinsi locality) on Sunday evening. The name of the departed soul is Aksa Ismail Shaikh.

There was heavy rainfall in the city on Sunday at 7.30 pm. The girl's father earns his livelihood by working as a labourer. However, the whole family was present at home due to rainfall. Aksa was standing in the door and was seeing the rain while the heavy rainfall was underway. She was also speaking to family members by standing at the door. In the meantime, there was a thunderous lightning sound in the sky. The sound was intolerable for Aksa. In fear of it, she collapsed on the ground and fell unconscious. The relatives rushed her to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but she died while undergoing treatment in Ward Number 25 at 9.30 pm, said the doctors.

Jinsi police station has registered a case of accidental death. The GMCH performed the post mortem on her body today afternoon, but the cause of death has not been revealed by the doctors, said the head constable Pankade.
